Md. Rahidul Islam

Manager (Research) and Head 

Mr. Rahidul Islam is a Development Researcher specializing in the field of Social Science, particularly in Climate Change Impact, Disaster Management, and Community-based Adaptation. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Disaster Management at the Institute of Bangladesh Studies at the University of Rajshahi. Presently, he is employed at a renowned research organization as a social science researcher, working with a global research team. Previously, he served as the coordinator of the Research, Planning, and Development Department at TMSS Grand Health Sector in Bogura.

Mr. Islam also holds positions as an adjunct faculty member at Pundra University of Science and Technology in Bogura, and Sunrise Nursing Institute in Dinajpur. Over the span of seven years, he has conducted more than 40 research projects under different organizations, authored books and scientific articles, and actively participated in numerous national and international conferences, seminars, and symposiums to influence public opinion and contribute to policy formulation. Through his work, he aims to continue positively impacting the lives of those in need.

Mr. Islam has published several articles in internationally refereed journals and presented his research at several international conferences. He has also published a book from a renowned publisher in Germany. He has a strong background in social science research particularly research instrument development, training of data enumerators, qualitative and quantitative data analysis, and report writing. His research interest includes Maternal and Child Health, Family and Child Welfare, Climate Change and Community Adaptation, Rural Development, and different Social Problems.


Jahangir Alam

Manager (Research)

Jahangir Alam is a Manager (Research) at MOMODa FOUNDATION, a research-oriented development organization that aims to create a society with reduced poverty and inequality. He has more than Five years of experience working with several research and development organizations, including IDE-JETRO (Japan), PEDL, GRIPS, and JPAL.

He has contributed to projects on topics such as environment, micro-credit, education, enclaves, financial inclusion, and advocacy. He has also been trained on how to design and implement field experiments and project monitoring and evaluation, and how to use data analysis tools such as CSPro, SurveyCTO, and STATA. He has a master’s degree in economics from Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur.

He was also an editor of the MOMODa Foundation Newsletter and several projects. Jahangir is passionate about finding innovative solutions to social and economic challenges and disseminating research findings to diverse audiences. He enjoys travelling and exploring new places.




Md Moniruzan 

Research Assistant
Monir works as a research assistant at the GSF. He is skilled in composing several research articles on public health, health economics, and environmental economics. He has co-authored articles published in Q-1 journals such as PLOS One and MDPI-Obesities. In addition, he serves as a peer reviewer for numerous journals indexed by Scopus. During his MSc in Applied Economics at Brac University, he has conducted many research proposals and empirical project works focused on labor migration, economic growth, child health, and time series with real life data. Monir has extensive coursework in econometrics and incorporated a quasi-experimental study in his master's thesis. Prior to joining the GSF, he played a modest part in research collaboration at Dishari and served as the IT secretary for the Khulna University Economics Society, at Khulna University during his undergraduate studies. Currently, he is working on a project financed jointly by the University of California, San Diego and the University of Colorado, Denver, USA. His desire for a better and challenging career prospect, encourages him to pursue advanced degrees in public health and environmental economics in future, and he is continuously acquiring new quantitative and qualitative analytical abilities and methods, with the existing knowledge in STATA and R Programming for data analysis and forecasting.


 Juthi Akter

Research Accounts Officer

Juthi Akter Oney is a finance professional with a strong educational background and a keen interest in Accounting & Finance. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting & Finance from American International University-Bangladesh. Following her studies, Juthi joined GSF as a Trainee Accounts Officer to kickstart her career in Accounting. In this role, she is focused on gaining practical experience and expanding her knowledge in financial operations, management, compliance, and accounting practices. Juthi is dedicated to contributing effectively to the success of GSF and is actively pursuing opportunities for continuous learning and skill development in accounting. Apart from this, Mahmuda enjoys exploring new trends and advancements in accounting, demonstrating her commitment to ongoing professional growth.



Md Sojib 

Trainee Research Assistant
As a research assistant with a background in environmental science and a minor in economics, Sojib have spent the past year working with the GSF. During this time, he has supported data collection and field activities, managed project documentation and archiving, and prepared reports. In addition, he has contributed to social media content creation. Sojib has also had the opportunity to participate in the UNLEASH global innovation lab, where he worked on SDGs 14 and 15. His recent projects include supporting USAID's Promoting Education for Early Learners Activities, conducting an assessment of learning loss due to COVID-19 among school children in Bangladesh, and evaluating the impact of a father engagement model in the Home Visiting Humanitarian Play Lab program in Rohingya refugee camps and host communities in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh. He possess technical expertise in surveyCTO-based digital data collection, as well as data checking and management using Stata and Microsoft Excel.
